Edmonton police spokesperson Cheryl Sheppard confirmed one person has died. No further details were given. Alberta Health Services (AHS) spokesperson Bruce Conway said multiple EMS units were called to the area of 101 Street and Whyte Avenue at 1:39 a.m. Sunday morning. One person was treated and assessed on scene but was not taken to hospital, he said. On Sunday morning, six Edmonton police cars could be witnessed parked outside of the Xhale Lounge, 8120 101 St NW. Police have cordoned off a block of 101 Street near Whyte Avenue.
