Roussillon police, the local police force in that area of the Montérégie, say that when they arrived at 1 a.m., the teenager was holding a weapon and refused to put it down. Both the teenager and the victim, 50, were taken to hospital. The teenager died from his injuries. The victim remains in critical condition. Quebec's public security ministry transferred the investigation to Quebec provincial police. Provincial law requires that another police force investigate incidents in which civilians are injured or killed and police are involved. |
