Man in police custody after woman says she was attacked in downtown parkade

Security guards at the parkade in the 200 block of 6 Avenue S.W. discovered the woman, who had been severely beaten, and called police at about 3:45 p.m. Dec. 20. A woman in her 40s was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The woman alleges she met her attacker in the area of 3rd Street and 7th Avenue S.W. and agreed to go with him to meet a friend. After they met the friend, the group dispersed, and the victim walked with the man to a stairwell, where she was beaten and sexually assaulted. Andy Dick Ntunaguza, 30, was arrested downtown without incident Tuesday and was charged with aggravated sexual assault, forcible confinement and overcome resistance by choking. Ntunaguza is scheduled to appear in a Calgary court on Jan. 4. Calgary Herald |
