Man charged after gun fired through neighbour's bedroom wall

Police have charged a man and arrested another on outstanding warrants after a woman woke up to a gunshot through her bedroom wall on Tuesday morning. The woman called police to her home in the 2700 block of 10th Avenue S.E. around 2:20 a.m., after waking up to the sound of gunfire and bullet hole in her bedroom wall. After surrounding the fourplex building and ordering its occupants out, police took two men into custody, one of whom had a magazine containing 9mm bullets in his pocket. Police executed a search warrant on the home around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and found a pistol-calibre long-barrel carbine and a shell casing. Police have charged Reginald Denis, 31, of Calgary, with reckless discharge of a firearm, and several weapons possession offences. He was also arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant. Hol Dominick Garang, 23, of Calgary, was arrested on eight outstanding warrants, including robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
