Police say shot narrowly missed bus driver, more than a dozen officers responded to Huntington Hills shooting

Mike Drew / Postmedia News Officers shot and killed a suspect after multiple shots were fired from a home in the northwest Calgary community. The incident began shortly before 5 p.m. when police were called to a home near 78th Avenue and 10th Street N.W. A shot narrowly missed a Calgary Transit driver who was driving a bus. Police urged residents in the area to hunker down in their basements as they addressed the situation. In the end, they tore through the back fence of the home and sent in tactical officers. Police shot and killed the suspect. Police Chief Roger Chaffin said the situation escalated after the suspect left the residence. “We’re fortunate no innocent bystanders were injured,” Chaffin said Monday morning.
