The homicide unit is investigating the suspicious death of a woman in the southeast community of Cranston.
Officers were called to the home on 200 block of Cramond Close S.E. around 2 p.m. Sunday to conduct a check on welfare.
When officers did not get an answer at the door, they forced their way into the residence and found the woman dead inside.
The woman has been identified as Cindy Enger, 51, of Calgary. An autopsy revealed her death is suspicious but are waiting for further tests to confirm manner of death.
Police say Enger moved into the area in 2006 and had about 20 tenants live with her over the last decade. Investigators are looking to speak with these tenants and urge them to come forward.
At this time, the tenants are considered witnesses, not suspects.
Police have maintained a presence around the residence into Tuesday, with yellow tape and cruisers blocking the scene.
More to come…
