City police are investigating after a fight between two neighbours in northeast Calgary sent one of the men to hospital with stab wounds late Thursday.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Falton Drive N.E. in the community of Falconridge to respond to a stabbing.

“Two neighbours were involved in an altercation in an alley,” said Det. Andy Nguyen. “There has been an ongoing neighbourly dispute between these two.”

A man in his 40s was taken to Foothills Hospital with multiple “soft-tissue injuries” to the upper body in stable non-life threatening condition, said EMS spokesman Adam Loria.

The second man sustained cuts and bruises, Nguyen said.

While being taken to Westwinds police headquarters for questioning, he claimed to have heart issues and was taken to hospital for precautionary measures, Nguyen added.

There is no word yet on charges.
