Listen Alberta Premier Rachel Notley will outline her NDP government’s plan for job creation in a televised address that will also be streamed on Globalnews.ca Thursday at 6:45 p.m. MT. Notley has travelled around the province, “meeting Albertans and hearing their views on the province’s budget,” and will explain how the government will help families through the economic downturn. “There is no doubt the oil price collapse is causing serious economic pain and it’s a scary time for many families,” Notley said in a Wednesday statement. “I want to talk directly to Albertans about what we’re up against and walk them through our plan to get Alberta through this.” The government said the total cost for production and air time of the 15-minute televised address is $90,000, and is meant to reach more than 300,000 Albertans. The cost is similar to former premier Jim Prentice’s March 2015 address, pegged between $80,000 and $100,000. Brian Jean, leader of the Wildrose Opposition, is being offered the chance to reply to the premier’s address “at a later date,” the government said Wednesday. 2016 Global News, a division of Corus Entertainment Inc.
