'I would likely suspect that charges will be laid in the near future,' say RCMPA dashcam captured a vehicle squeezing through two cars earlier this week at more than 113 km/h on one of Alberta's busiest highways. (*CA*RUS*/YouTube) RCMP are investigating after a driver narrowly passed between two vehicles at a high speed on one of Alberta's busiest highways. The dangerous driver was captured on a dashcam earlier this week approaching a group of car enthusiasts travelling north on Highway 2, otherwise known as the Queen Elizabeth II Highway or QE2. They are part of the BMW Alberta Enthusiasts Car Club.
The driver was clocking more than 113 km/h, according to the person who posted the dashcam video. The lane splitting incident happened on April 10 at roughly 11:20 a.m. near Bowden, Alta. Suspect identified, questionedRCMP say the driver nearly hit the two vehicles when it passed through them. The vehicle then passed another member of the group on the shoulder of the road before speeding away."Other witnesses that saw the driving actually located the driver and confronted him," said Cpl. Kevin Halwa with the Sylvan RCMP. He said the vehicle and suspect have been identified and questioned, but not arrested. "I would likely suspect that charges will be laid in the near future," said Halwa. |
